ENVIS Regional Evaluation & Training Workshop-2018 for Gangetic Region on 6th& 7th December, 2018

CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow organised two days ENVIS Regional Evaluation & Training Workshop-2018 and training on ArcGIS for ENVIS Centers of Gangetic Regions on 6th& 7th December, 2018 at Hotel Ramada Plaza, Lucknow sponsored by Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Govt. of India.
40 Officials from 9 different ENVIS Centres of Gangetic regions viz., CPCB Delhi, JNU Delhi, IITM Pune, ADRI Patna, CMS Delhi, Department of Environment Uttar Pradesh, Department of Forest and Environment Jharkhand, IIT-ISM Dhanbad and NBRI Lucknow participated in the workshop. The workshop comprises of two components (1) Evaluation of the performance of various ENVIS Centres based on their annual activities in 2018-19 and (2) Providing hands-on training to officials of these Centres on ArcGIS Software to be used in National Environment Survey.
Prof. S.K. Barik, Director, CSIR-NBRI welcomed the chief guest Dr. Anandi Subramanian, Principal Economic Advisor, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Govt. of India, at the occasion.
All the ENVIS Coordinator have presented the detailed reports along with outcomes and annual activities of their respective ENVIS-RPs and Hubs.
On this occasion, Mr. Kumar Rajnish, National Program Coordinator (ENVIS), Ms. Urmila, Joint Director, Mr. Ranjan Kumar, Sr. Information Officer, Mr. Ravi Goswami, Sr. Web Developer coordinated the event on behalf of Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Govt. of India.
Training on ArcGIS was provided by the expert Mr. Chandra Mohan Singh Adhikari, of ESRI India Technologies Ltd, Noida to all the ENVIS Staff. The programme was concluded on 7th December 2018 with the vote of thanks to the chair.
