On January 12-13, 2015 a 2 (two)- day evaluation-cum-training Workshop was held at Dehradun, Uttarakhand for all ENVIS Centres of Northern Region. The said workshop was organized at Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, Uttarkhand. The workshop was attended by around 50 (fifty) participants of both Thematic and State ENVIS Centres of Northern region. Sri M. Kannan, Economic Adviser emphasized on the need to transform ENVIS as one of the tools Decision Support System available to the Government of India for formulating various Environmental Policies and decision. The experts who chaired the evaluation listed Professor Avinash Chandra, Professor C.R. Babu, Professor Haripriya Gundimeda, Professor Saroj Barik, Shri Vijay Lakhanpal, Shri D. P. Singh and Shri V. N. Diwakar. Three parallel sessions for evaluating the activities of 22 Thematic and State Centres were carried out in the workshop. The second day of the Workshop was marked by a crucial training by NRSA officals Shri P G Diwakar and Shri Arul Raj on BHUVAN Portal. The workshop concluded with a thought-provoking session by experts who shared their remarks. The concluding address was given by the Economic Adviser.
